Core Middleware Layer
Internally, the smallest adressable thing (like a single sensor value) is modeled as a resource in REST style. That means, it can be identified by device name and a unique path. A convention is to start the path either with /s for sensors or /a for actuators.
Bindings in Binomium linguo mean the interface between things (sensors, actuators, ...) and the IoT platform itself. All the communication between platform and things is done via the binding. It is easy to write a custom binding to attach new things to the platform, thereby leveraging the existing infrastructure. Communication between the platform and things is binding-agnostic, therefore, bindings are a way to bridge system boundaries.
Currently, the focus is on the SIP binding. But many more are in development.
